Research

My research interests are gender & queer studies, particularly in contemporary American literature. I study the voices of women-loving women (wlw) through fiction and poetry, and investigate trauma-informed expressions of the lived experiences of the LGBTQIA+ community in literature.

Bio
Pronouns: she/her   Chelsea is an earthbound soul who spends too much time writing love letters to the moon. Born and raised in Delaware, she's spent her entire life living on the East coast near the beach. She received a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Delaware, and an MA in Literature from Salisbury University. In Fall 2020, she relocated to CoMo as a PhD student and graduate instructor. In her free time, she writes and publishes poetry and hangs out with her cat, Freya. In academia, she studies contemporary American literature, paying special attention to the voices of women-loving women. With respect to her research, she is particularly focused on the relationships between queer voices and the looming shadow of trauma.
