Kate Harlin (PhD '20) has won the 2021 “MU Distinguished Dissertation Award” from the Graduate School for her dissertation, “'One Foot on the Other Side': Suicideality in Contemporary African Diaspora Fiction,” which was directed by Prof. Christopher Okonkwo. This award is given to “the top ranked dissertation across all disciplines.”
