English Colloquium Series: Kasia Bartoszynska

-
Tate Hall Room 215

Join us in welcoming our next colloquium visitor Kasia Bartoszynska of Ithaca College on Friday, November 13th at 3:30pm in Tate Hall Room 215.

She will be giving a talk, "Free Indirect Me: Experiments in First-Person Voice in 18th and 21st Century Fiction.” Though there is plenty of critical disagreement about what free indirect discourse really is, there would seem to be a broad consensus about what it is not: the first-person voice. This talk will suggest otherwise, examining writing from the 18th century and today, and considering how first-person narrators strive to be someone other than themselves.
