English Colloquium One-Read: Writing Through Writer’s Block: Lessons from Modern American Fiction, by Aaron Colton

-
Tate Hall Room 215

For this fall’s department one-read, we will be reading excerpts from Writing Through Writer’s Block: Lessons from Modern American Fiction, by Aaron Colton (Assistant Professor of English and Director of College Writing at Pomona College). It looks at blocked writers in recent fiction, offering the first book-length analysis of the archetype of the blocked writer and asking what pedagogical lessons we might learn about how the writing process works for all kinds of writers. We’ll be reading the introduction, the second chapter, and the coda.
