Meet new English Department Alumni Leaders Board members

Allison Coffelt is an award-winning author, teacher, and creative thinker working at the intersection of health & humanities. Her writing and audio production have been featured in the Journal of the American Medical Association, BMJ Medical Humanities, NPR’s KBIA-FM, the Los Angeles Review of Books, and elsewhere. She is the author of Maps Are Lines We Draw: A Road Trip through Haiti, a lyric nonfiction exploration of health equity, colonialism, and the complicated relationship between “here” and “there.” Previously, Allison worked for the world-renowned nonfiction film festival, True/False. Allison holds a master’s degree in creative nonfiction from MU and a master's degree in narrative medicine from Columbia University. She teaches the narrative medicine program at Columbia University.

Sarah Pribe graduated from Mizzou in 2020 with degrees in English, International Studies, and Russian, and a minor in Linguistics. After college, she worked for a global, pro bono law firm focusing on human rights and transitional justice in post-conflict zones before attending law school. Sarah received her J.D. from The Ohio State University – Moritz College of Law in May 2024, during which she worked for federal and state agencies in immigration and criminal prosecution. Sarah is now living in Chicago with her fiancé, Connor, where she works as a criminal prosecutor with the Cook County State’s Attorney. When not working or studying, Sarah likes running marathons, painting, and reading all the books on all the things that are not law-related.
