Research and Teaching

Albert Devlin is the author of Eudora Welty's Chronicle (University Press of Mississippi) and editor of Conversations with Tennessee Williams (University Press of Mississippi) and Eudora Welty: A Life in Literature (University Press of Mississippi). He has edited two special Welty numbers for the Mississippi Quarterly and received the biennial award of the Eudora Welty Society for "distinguished achievement." Volume 1 of the The Selected Letters of Tennessee Williams, was published by New Directions in 2000 with the support of an NEH senior fellowship. The volume (co-edited with Professor Nancy Tischler) received the Morton N. Cohen Award "for a distinguished edition of letters"—given biennially by the Modern Language Association. Volume II appeared in 2004. Current project is an estate-authorized edition of the correspondence of Elia Kazan - forthcoming from Alfred A. Knopf ca. 2011. Teaching interests center in Southern American literature and modern drama.
