Performance of Literature
(Cross-listed with THEATR 3200)
Course Description
This course introduces undergraduate students to the essential elements of literature and performance. Students will explore the dynamic relationship between literature and performance through the interaction of literary analysis and elements of performance.
Course Objectives
By the end of the course, you will experience and/or learn to:
1. Experiment with at least two styles of performance practice to inform the writing process.
2. Compose three performances of varying style and purpose.
3. Demonstrate progress and achievement in physical and vocal performance techniques.
Survey literary and performance practices within the fields of Theatre and Performance Studies.
