Building upon the beginning playwriting course, and in preparation for advanced courses in dramatic writing in playwriting and screenwriting, this playwriting course further develops intermediate skills of playwriting through intensive writing exercises and workshop readings, culminating in the preparation, writing, and public reading of a full-length dramatic play, as well as completing shorter works for competition in the National Playwriting Program of the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival. Students who have had any creative writing course are invited to contact the instructor for permission to take the course.
