Course Description

Do you want to learn from the most effective Internet writers and start producing texts that your audience will love reading both for information and pleasure? If so, you are in the right place! In this course, you will study the primary Internet genres, such as discourse community websites, profiles, explainers, and others. Though these terms might sound unfamiliar to you, you will recognize them immediately as soon as you see specific examples that you come across daily while scrolling on your phone.

We will analyze multiple Internet materials and discuss rhetorical scholarship that will reveal to you the most effective strategies Internet writers use to create unique, fresh, and engaging texts for different purposes. Through the projects you will complete for this class, you will learn how to monetize your hobby, write for a top-selling magazine, and become a famous educator by popularizing your professional field. For the final project, you will create your own website and fill it up with one-of-a-kind content in the genres we will study, inspired by the newest theories, methods, and practices and augmented with apt design and persuasive visuals. At the end of the semester, you will showcase your favorite project to the class, initiating an exciting discussion with your classmates.
