Following the tradition of Tennessee Williams who wrote his first play at MU, student playwrights will develop new short plays, exploring plot, character, thought, diction, theatricality and lyricism.  Plays will be developed through the Missouri Playwrights Workshop and the Mizzou New Play Series – a project of MU Theatre’s Award-winning Writing For Performance Program.  Over a hundred Mizzou student dramatists have won awards through the Kennedy Center American College Theatre Festival.
