Course Description

In this course, we will be using The Norton Anthology of World Literature and reading Japanese, Chinese, Indian, South African, Egyptian, and other literature from around the world. The course will mostly, but not exclusively, focus on post-WWII literature. Themes will include the impact of two World Wars, colonialism and its demise, the Cold War, modernization, changing family structures, the globalization of our economy, environmental problems, and climate change.
