Course Description

This course is open to all students who want to develop their talents and voice as creative writers, and to hone their skills as editors. Students will read and engage with diverse published works of fiction, creative nonfiction, and poetry to get a feel for different types of creative writing. By the end of the semester, students will produce an array of dynamic new writing across all three genres. Readings and assignments will vary based on the instructor.

Beginning and more experienced writers alike are strongly encouraged to take this course (or its equivalent) before enrolling in creative writing courses at the 2000- or 4000-level.
