Course Description

How does the outsized role that technology plays in our day-to-day lives change our relationship with our bodies and the way we move through the world? How does that change move to the page to change the way we write and craft narrative? In this class, we will explore the way technology and the body interact in short stories and the many ways that we write against, through and beside technology in our fiction. Class meeting will be spent doing some combination of discussing readings, attempting in-class exercises inspired by the readings or other materials, and sharing work as a part of in-class workshops. All genres and types of stories will be welcome for writing workshops. No AI use is permitted.
