Creative Writing: Intermediate Fiction

Intermediate Fiction is deep dive into the (complex! and fascinating!) art of writing fiction. Following a quick introduction/review of terms and concepts, which will give us the advantage of a shared vocabulary, we’ll be exploring as both readers and writers, experimenting in technical and generative ways, and working together to advance our craft. Readings will be from twelve landmark collections of stories. We’ll look at one collection per decade, starting with the 1920s, then read from two collections from each of the two most recent decades.
