This one-credit course is designed to help introduce new graduate students in English to graduate study (in general and in our department specifically), to the concrete procedures and long-term goals involved in successfully negotiating their programs of study, and to some of our faculty and graduate students. In addition to attending all class meetings, you will be required to attend department events, designed to expose you to the intellectual life of the department.
