Katie Rhodes is a long-form fiction writer and researcher. She is currently investigating the effectiveness of the critical incident stress debriefing (CISD) process with regards to emergency medical service responders, and the potential for the adoption of narrative medicine into this process. Katie has served as a writer in residence for the National Parks Service and the Scholastic Corporation and is now finishing her dissertation, a novel. She has also served as either a graduate instructor or teaching assistant in the English, chemistry and biology departments at the University of Missouri, and plans to pursue medicine after graduation.
