Her most recent book, Women Writers and Old Age in Great Britain, 1750-1850, was published by Johns Hopkins UP in 2008. She previously published British Women Writers and the Writing of History, 1670-1820 (Johns Hopkins, 2000; paperback, 2005), which was named a Choice Outstanding Academic Title. She is the editor of Jane Austen and Discourses of Feminism (St. Martin's, 1995) and co-editor of Generations: Academic Feminists in Dialogue (Minnesota, 1997). A co-editor of the Journal for Early Modern Cultural Studies, she is past president of the Midwest Modern Language Association. Education Selected Publications
